As our business moves from being a meat processor to an aggregator of meat cuts, smoked/cured meat products, eggs, dairy, fruits/vegetables, and even value-added products like popping corn, honey, maple syrup, and artisan foods, we now fit the USDA definition of a Food Hub. The major service we provide is to market and sell farmers’ products for them so they can focus on farming. We know we can’t be everything to everyone. But the more markets and demand we create, the more we help family farmers stay in business. This in turn benefits rural communities and the rural economy.
