Upper Midwest CRAFT Field Day: Using Hand Tools

Date/Time
Wednesday, July 31
10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Location
Stone Circle Farm

Event Details

John Hendrickson has grown organic vegetables at Stone Circle Farm since 1999. The farm is currently in transition as his farming equipment business, Small Farm Works, expands. John introduced the paper chain pot transplanting systems to North America in 2006. His farm is now being devoted to testing and demonstration and development of small-scale tools. For the field day, John will demonstrate different types of paper pots, paper pot transplanters, in-row torsion weeders from Japan, hand transplanting tools that work in bare soil or plastic mulch, the Jang seeder, his garlic processing station, his DIY row-cover field tunnel design, and more. John believes that appropriate technology has a vital role to play in making small farms profitable and enjoyable.
